Kitchen Appliance Advancedment

5:58 pm

bergen county contractorIt’s 2013. Some of us are wondering where our auto-filling refrigerators and ultra-dehydrated Back To The Future-esque meals are. It seems that many of the kitchen upgrades taking the country by storm aren’t so much futuristic and flashy as they are modeled after large-scale commercial kitchens. Sure, there are endless models of flashy refrigerators with streaming Netflix and temperature-controlled kitchen cabinets. If you talk to any real kitchen pro, however, you’ll find that the real trend is modeling these appliances after commercial kitchens—often ignoring some of the flashier aspects of technology change.

Ranges and cook-tops are moving from the traditional four-burner style to a more expansive range, often requiring an entire kitchen remodeling project. With a multi-unit range you have the capability to go beyond the traditional kitchen style and try out griddles, steamers, and fryers, while having commercial ventilation available at all times. The overall kitchen designs are changing to incorporate dedicated task stations with flexible and smaller appliances when available. This makes the kitchen very task-oriented and easy to keep different aspects of cooking separate from others. The sink is another major difference. We’re starting to move from sleek and to industrial size with hands-free technology.

Stone Countertop Options

8:46 pm

Stone is one of the most beautiful and elegant options for countertops, and judging by the popularity boom, individuals undergoing kitchen remodeling in Bergen County NJ are on the same page as the rest of the country. Well, what are the advantages and disadvantages compared to wood and metal options?

Stone options are much more durable and are able to withstand the pressures of a hectic kitchen atmosphere. As we mentioned before, they have unique styles not found in wood and metal. One issue, however, is that they require a bit more maintenance down the line because of the naturally occurring pores found in rocks and minerals—given the inherent moist environment, this makes perfect sense. Here is a quick look at a few popular stone options:

  • Granite: Granite is one of the most popular countertop choices and is easily one of the more durable and longer-lasting of choices. If you’re looking for kitchen cabinets in New Jersey, you’ll find a plethora of granite options that match any cabinet style.
  • Marble: The only downside to marble is that it is considered slightly less durable than granite, but it does get style points. Marble works in any type of kitchen, from modern to classic.
  • Quartz: The final stone option to review costs much less than the rest. However, the style is much more uniform and looks a bit less unique. The durability, however, is still top notch!

Increase Your Living Space, Love Your Home

7:57 pm

NJ home remodeling Our overall goal as your design build company is to, quite simply, make you love your home. We’ve previously discussed how a kitchen renovation or kitchen cabinet redesign can improve your home, but you have plenty of other options for home improvement everywhere around your home.

  • Add-A-Level: One of our larger-scale projects, adding a level is a great way to increase the value of your home and create a massive amount of extra space! Whether you want to add one room or go all out with a three-room addition, you’ll immediately love your loads of extra room.
  • Basement Renovations: You may not realize it, but your unfinished basement is a diamond in the rough! Clear out the clutter of your basement and finally turn it into a home office or entertainment area (you can even toss a bar down there!).
  • Master Bedroom: So, the kids are finally out of the house and you have an extra room or two? Perfect. Knock down a couple walls and create the master bedroom of your dreams (you deserve it).
  • Wine Rooms: We previously wrote about custom wine rooms for your home—in essence, they give your wine collection a safe place of its own and keep your bottles out of the kitchen.

BBQ Taste On a Rainy Day

6:37 pm

kitchen cabinets in new jerseyIt’s finally summer and time to start making plans for outdoor BBQ parties to celebrate the 4th of July and just great weather in general. You’re all set with your favorite grill and, if you’ve been following our advice, an awesome new summer deck! Alas, the heatwave that prompted you to plan your outdoor BBQ was actually just a warning for a week of storms–what are you to do? Fret not, even without a whole kitchen renovation you can still emulate your favorite smokey and grilled taste inside–without the grill!

First off, under no circumstances should anyone try to use an outdoor grill inside their house or even inside the garage; gas and coal emit Carbon Monoxide which is poisonous to the human body in even low levels. Having said that, here are a few options that are safe for indoors:

  • Electric Indoor Grills: With more options than ever, at even better prices, an indoor grill is your best bet. Of course, it’s important to do research before purchasing; a common problem is trapped moisture caused by shallow grates.
  • Smoked Meat: A popular alternative to outdoor grilling is purchasing meat which is already seasoned with the “smokey” flavor we all crave. Naturally, this doesn’t help in emulating grilled vegetables.
  • Indoor Smoker: For the adventurous chef there is always an indoor home-smoker to infuse your food with a BBQ-like flavor. Careful with these, however, or you may end up smoking out your place and needing a total home renovation!

Stop Choosing Between Practicality and Aesthetics

10:05 pm

Have Fun With Your Bergen County Kitchen Remodeling Too many folks spend their whole lives living in homes decorated in a way they would describe as “tolerable,” not exceptional. Given the fact that your home is the only place in the world that is entirely yours, it should be a place you love to spend time in. You should spend your days looking forward to returning home at night. One of the best ways to do this is to be a little bold in your decorating choices. If you have decided that the time for a remodeling has come, a Bergen County kitchen remodeling expert can guide you in how to take your kitchen from functional and practical, but boring, to exciting and fun to use.

Many people are under the misguided belief that in order for a kitchen to remain functional and work properly, it must be a little staid. This is simply not true. Adding eye-catching amendments like a bold color on the wall or fun kitchen cabinet handles can be exactly the thing your home needs to take its look from ho-hum to wow! The only question is whether you have the courage to take the leap into this bold new territory.

With a little reassurance from friends and family, Bergen County home remodeling can be an exciting adventure. The key to this is trusting the professionals. Let these people do what they do best and guide you towards a kitchen you will love when the whole process is completed.

Is Contracting in Your Future?

6:52 pm

Bergen County Home RemodelingThe majority of our Bergen County contractors have known they wanted to build things with their hands their entire life. These men and women are the ones who grew up practically glued to wooden blocks, Legos and tree house sets. Taking a pile of sticks and turning them into a home is practically in their blood. Is it in yours?

If this sounds like you, and if you are someone who has been building since the first moment you realized you could, a career in Bergen County home remodeling might be for you. Becoming a contractor is not as easy as one might think, but for those who simply have to work with their hands to feel satisfied, it is completely worth it. Learn the steps it takes to become a reputable contractor, and then call Trade Mark to see if we have room to take you onto our team.

Some contractors work for themselves, others join a team. Either way, you will need to take an honest look at your skill sets. What do you excel at? Where can you grow? Identify the areas where growth is needed and sign up for a class. Then get your documents in order. Write up contracts, send out resumes, gather before and after pictures for your portfolio. Once you have done all of this work, start marketing yourself. Build a website and post the link on social media sites. Then answer every reply. This could be the start of your new life!

Old Appliances: More Than an Eyesore

8:20 pm

Why The Answer To Your Health Woes Might Be In A Bergen County Kitchen RemodelingWhen contemplating Bergen County home remodeling, one of the first factors folks consider is what the process will look like financially. In today’s financially shaky world, people are often operating on a tighter budget than ever. While your budget absolutely should be a deciding factor, there are times when action simply needs to be taken. This very well could be the case with your home’s old appliances.

Many people fail to realize that their old appliances are more than a visual eyesore. They could actually be contributing to a host of health problems for you and your family. Opting out of calling a Bergen County contractor when it is purely a matter of aesthetics does make a degree of financial sense. However, when the problem has become one that is affecting the physical well-being of your family, it makes significantly less sense.

The appliances that have been serving you so well for the last decade are probably rusted by now. This rust can lead to the growth of allergens in the environment, which can lead to chest problems. Additionally, mold is likely to accumulate on appliances that regularly use water. These mold spores can wreak havoc on your immune system. If this is the case for your home, a remodeling job might mean the difference between a healthy lifestyle and constantly being sick. That seems worth it to us!
